One year sessions are honestly one of my favorite sessions to have! The babies definitely have their own personalities at this point, and they are so much fun to play with. And the parents are fun too – they are so much more self-assured in their roles. Their love is deeper and more ferociously apparent than ever, and of course, the love is what makes the photographs so beautiful. I’m always so thrilled when parents ask to be a part of their child’s first birthday session.
This little lady sure has grown since the last time she was seen around these parts. Miss H. is one now, and cute as a button. Her little personality is awesome, she was such a trooper and she was ready for almost anything!
The wet, wet (WET) day tried to thwart our plans, but with downright chilly weather in the forecast, we decided to push through, and I’m so glad we did. The colors were amazing that day – the leaves and the damp earth and the soft hazy light were a photographer’s dream. Goes to show ya that sometimes the prettiest sessions aren’t the ones you think.
First Birthday Cake Smash Pictures
Sweet Miss H. turned one year old on Halloween! Her momma and I came up with a super fun halloween-chic cake smash idea to help her celebrate her first birthday. I loved the way the pretty fall colored tutu worked perfectly with the natural beauty of the park, and the pumpkin-orange cake was just the perfect little accessory to smash away at.
(As a side note… yes, I realize Halloween was months ago at this point… mom requested that we wait till after the holidays to blog these. I have a valid reason this time!) 😉
