This session is one of the most meaningful I’ve ever photographed. Momma wanted to give daddy a gift while he was deployed, and I was so happy when she let me know she wanted me to photograph her kiddos just like I photograph my own! I LOVE capturing children just being kids – playing, being silly, reading books, building towers. And this session gave us the chance to do all of that.
“Lifestyle photography” is a term that photographers throw around all the time – it can mean any number of things and in fact, understanding just what a client wants from their lifestyle session can be difficult (I’ve had at least one lapse in communication over the years.) But when you tell me “I just want to play with my kids and show what we do everyday while daddy’s gone, and that although we miss him a lot, we are doing ok…” That I can understand.
THANK YOU to my sweet friend for inviting me into your home during this time – I’m thrilled that daddy loved the pictures, and I’m even more excited to know that he’s now safe back at home. 🙂
