So I named my business Mischief and Laughs. That was 7 years ago (how is that possible?) and at the time, it was exactly how I felt about children. I had three of my own, all under 5 and they were so full of life and vibrancy. I wanted a piece of that goofy giggly fun that children inevitably bring. Fast forward many years and many clients later, and I still want to toss a bit of that goofy giggly fun into every single session I have with kids.
You see, when kids are toddlers, they naturally spill out that carefree attitude. They just effortlessly act like themselves, they don’t know how to hide it. They don’t know fake smiles or the shy-for-the-camera thing. If they are shy, it’s legit. If they are happy, it’s honest. And help us all, if they are mad, they are spitfire stomp and scream mad. 😉
As kids grow, they tend to be more reserved. And it’s my job during our session to remind them to just BE KIDS. How? We play games, I tell stupid jokes, I just chat with them for a bit and get to know them. And before long the giggly goofy stuff comes bubbling back to the surface.
This session at the Eastman Museum was a wonderful soul-awakening outdoor session. You see after so many inside photos this spring, it was refreshing to get outside and get to PLAY and be creative with these kiddos! Thanks momma for the wonderful session and thanks to your sweet kids for being so free and fabulous!
