Every newborn photo session is different, and it’s more than just the props that make it that way. One of my favorite things about being a newborn photographer is getting to meet all the sweet babies – all different shapes and sizes, temperaments, likes and dislikes. This sweet girlie was precious as could be, with just enough cheeks and chub to make things squishy. She was mild mannered and oh-so-calm during our session, only waking for a few minutes to eat.
A newborn’s siblings can be so fun (and sometimes so challenging) to photograph. I don’t blame big brother or sister for sometimes being a little nervous in front of the camera. Some of them plop right down for me and snuggle all over their new baby… others, wellllll they require a bit more creativity!
Although we never did convince big brother to lay down on my furry rug, we did trick him into a few shots with his baby sister. And for the family photos, we even got big huge smiles out of him! Playing with the kiddos and getting them comfortable in front of the camera is one of my favorite parts of this job. 🙂
