The first time you hold your baby in your arms is absolute magic. It’s a love unlike anything you’ve felt before – raw and guttural. The fierceness of that mama-bear love is something I can’t explain in words. One of my favorite things about photographing newborn babies is that I get to see a bit of that mama bear love shining through the tired sleeplessness. Mom and dad’s first real outing with the little one is often to my studio. It’s new, the diaper bag is crisp, clean, and full to the brim. Dad is bleary eyed, but full of love. Momma is protective and full of joy.
This little family was amazing during their session at the studio. I loved seeing mom and dad interact with their little peanut girl. This is why I never charge extra for family to join in the session… it’s just too precious to get these first photos together.
