Why you should hire an Elopement Photographer

One of my favorite things about being an elopement photographer in Cincinnati is getting to witness the love my couples have for each other and preserving that history for future generations. I love big fancy fairytale weddings as much as any girl. But there’s something very special about an elopement. Just you, your beloved, and a witness or two. It’s marriage distilled into its purest form, shunning all the trappings and focusing on what’s truly important.

And just because your wedding is super small in scale, there’s no reason to skip hiring a professional elopement photographer! Why? oh let me count the reasons.

1. This is YOUR STORY. This is your history, and one day you may be blessed with children or grandchildren. They deserve to see the story of your love, even if you just want to keep that story quiet and simple.
2. You need a witness anyway. I’ve had the honor of signing several marriage certificates!
3. Not everyone has a camera. When you elope you don’t have hordes of instagrammers with their cell phones or uncle bobs with their fancy camera following you around – that in my opinion, makes hiring a professional photographer for your elopement even more vital!
4. I’m really good at listening. This day is special, and I’ll honor any crazy ideas you and your beloved have! We can make an afternoon of it and have a grand adventure. Or you can keep it simple and photograph only the ceremony. Your choice.

This courthouse wedding was so sweet, with only the bride and groom’s parents in attendance. And although our time together was short, it was powerful. I’ll admit, I didn’t have dry eyes after seeing their faces after the judge said “man and wife.” It was beautiful, intimate, and perfect.
