A Shout out to Moms

Moms,

This mothers day, I want you to know that you are awesome.

The job of mothering never ever ends – the whistle doesn’t blow at 5:00 or 9:00 or ever, we moms are always “on” ready to help our children any time of day or night. This work we call being a mom is tough. Mentally and physically. We have borne babies in our bellies and on our hips and in our hearts. We have logged 100,000 miles to and from baseball and scouts and playdates. We have sacrificed a huge part of ourselves to them, in the name of love.

And it is that love for our children that keeps us mommies going every day.

I hope and pray that every one of my friends and clients feels extra loved this Mothers Day.

For all you do and all you are and all you mean to them, Happy Mothers Day.

These cuties have been longtime clients of mine, and good friends. I could seriously photograph them every day. I hope they are always this sweet toward each other! Their session was full of hugs and kisses and lots of laughs.

Well I really truly am keeping up with this 365 project, but editing and posting is kicking my rear. With spring sessions booking left and right (yay!) the most I can hope for is a shoot now, edit later approach. It’s all good though – I’m doing this for me and my children. My goal is long-term here.

Spring Sweetheart {Northern KY Baby Photographer}

Adorable little miss M is back for her 6 month photo session! She did the girly girl thing like a rockstar! A pretty pastel tutu and pearls? Um, yes please! I just love this age – so sweet and squishy. They interact with the world around them; they are so curious about everything. Oh yeah – the best part is that six month olds don’t run away.

The Sweet Life {Cincinnati In-Home Baby Photographer}

Oh sweet squishy little miss Hazel was such a doll during her three month session that took place right in her simple, soothing gray nursery… the combination of quintessential baby chub, a pretty pink tutu, and gorgeous eyes that match her name perfectly was almost more than I could handle! Add in a sweet little dimple and I just about died. I loved momma and daddy’s relaxed attitude, even when the session didn’t quite go as planned (three month olds are like that, ya know.) We rolled with it, miss Hazel got a quick catnap, and then she woke up fresh and ready for more. The thing I love most about in-home baby sessions is the fact that we can just roll with the punches… the lifestyle feel of the session lends itself so well to taking it slow, and letting baby be boss.

On the Move {Cincinnati Baby Photographer}

Little Mr is 9 months old already! He’s on the move too, crawling all over, pulling up, and even starting to stand alone! I’m thinking he’ll be walking (or maybe even running) by his one year session for sure. I’d better bring some good shoes to that one. I absolutely LOVE 9 month olds. If I could pick any age to photograph, I might just pick this age… so adorable!

I love baby plan clients, I feel I get to know their little personalities so well, and little G is no exception to this… he’s so very full of personality! He always has been. Take a minute to check out his 6 month, 3 month, and Newborn sessions! See, personality to spare!

For our session (which took place during the freezing cold of winter) we went to gorgeous Krohn Conservatory nestled in Eden Park, Cincinnati OH. Inside it was a balmy 75 degrees and full of gorgeous green plants in all directions! I love exploring this place, with the waterfalls and the beautiful flowers. Even the smell inside the conservatory is special, humid and earthy.

I also love that mom and dad have been such a part of little G’s sessions, from the time he was born. They are happy to get in front of the camera and show their love for their little guy! Such a wonderful thing to see a family like theirs, so full of love.

Perfectly Pink {Northern KY Newborn Photographer}

Once again, I’m a bit behind on blogging – but better late than never. I LOVED this sweet, very pink, very girly newborn session! Adorable little Carsyn was a doll and slept perfectly for our session. During our consultation mom mentioned that she loved the colors pink and brown – it’s such a great combination! I really think we played up the girly factor to the max during this session. I’m a girly girl myself, so this was right up my alley – pretty bows, fluffy tutus, and lots of shades of pink pink PINK!

I do so wish we could have fit her inside her momma’s boot, but well, little Carsyn wasn’t going in there. Good thing we had a backup plan! Special requests are a lot of fun (and when parents bring their own props, it gives me something new to play with!) Of course, I always keep baby’s comfort and safety the first priority.

Mischief and Laughs is a custom newborn photographer located in the Northern Kentucky area, serving all of the greater Cincinnati area. Sessions can take place in my cozy studio in Hebron, KY (near the airport) or in the comfort of your very own home if you prefer. Newborn sessions are typically held just after baby’s birth, so it is recommended that parents contact me at least 4 weeks before baby’s birth to book the session.
