This past month I had the incredible opportunity to attend The Bloom Forum’s SEE Palm Springs experience. It was a photo retreat full of unique photo opportunities, time to network with new friends from around the world, and plenty of sightseeing. I left feeling refreshed, happy, and ready to start a summer full of adventure.
We spent the week in Palm Springs, in the desert of southwest California, which is so different than Cincinnati’s climate and terrain. Our first night took us out to Joshua Tree National Park (which checks off one more spot on my lifelong goal to visit all the National Parks.) We had the opportunity to photograph two of 4 different model families, which was such a unique experience… very different than photo sessions here around Cincinnati – so open and sunny and dry. I loved the challenge and I really wish that I had more opportunity to explore this beautiful area!
We also had the chance to watch The Bloom Forum’s fabulous Summer Murdock do her thing while she went group to group photographing the models. She really is one of the kindest, most genuine people ever.
Back at the fabulous ACE Hotel Palm Springs, who played host to the whole group of us (all 40!) we had yet another opportunity to photograph a few more models, and also listen to Summer Murdock talk about about the process behind her pictures. I learned a few new tricks and gained a lot of inspiration!
And this post is getting really long. Last model family!
The Bloom Forum seriously found the best families for these modeling sessions and I’m happy to say I’ve found a few new instagram/facebook friends from them… so excited to see the new little one from the maternity session in a couple weeks up on IG!
Sorry (not sorry) for the photo-heavy post here… I was just thrilled with this weekend and I’m even more thrilled to be able to share all the warm happy squishy feelings here on my blog!
Mischief and Laughs Photography is a Cincinnati-based photographer specializing in family and baby photography, but hey, I’d love to travel back to Palm Springs (or really anywhere!!) So yeah, I just put that out there.
Thanks for visiting!
