I have no doubt in my mind that part of my work here on earth is to tell stories, preserve memories, and use the gift of photography to help benefit others. And with this mindset, I try whenever I can to use my photos to help – I try to give back to the community in some way or another… from the COTA valentines day mini sessions to help families of organ transplants, to the ongoing work for military families through Operation Love Reunited, and my most recent work for the Kentucky Special Needs Adoption Program (which because of privacy I cannot show, but trust me when I say that they are the most amazing children.)
For my final “give back” campaign of the year, I called the Big Man down from the North Pole for a little Ho-Ho-Help! Together with one of the most friendly neighborhoods in Northern Kentucky, we raised nearly $400 for charity! The donations benefit the Brighton Center of Northern Kentucky as well as the neighborhood’s local elementary.
My favorite thing about Santa sessions, I admit, is the potential for tiny little screamers, and this group of babies and toddlers did not disappoint! Such awesome memories for these families, many “first Santa” experiences, many hopes and dreams and wishes whispered, several lists were brought along, and some of the moms and dads (and even a few grandpas) got in on the fun!
