Dear weekend, you are so close I can practically smell you. Weekend. Those magical days we spend time together with family, relaxing at home. And on those special weekends, we get away. We explore. We go to favorite places and do nothing or everything or just be together. And it’s absolutely magical, this thing called a weekend. And here in the Finger Lakes, weekends are even better! There’s water to play in, hikes to go on, cabins to visit.
This beautiful family asked me to come down to their magical little family cabin on Seneca Lake to capture a bit of this of this weekend magic. And it was perfection. The cabin – Club Fred – had been built decades ago by his father, and is the home away from home for their family. The tomatoes were always there, growing wild in the half barrels. The rocks on the beachfront had seen generations of little feet wading. The weathered Adirondack chairs have seen thousands of sunrises across the water. There was a story here, a real sense of history. And I was honored to see a part of it through their little guy’s curious eyes.
