There’s something incredibly special about gathering multiple generations together for photos. This extended family session at Glenwood Gardens in Cincinnati was a perfect celebration of connection, laughter, and the beautiful chaos that comes with two little ones in tow.
We met on a breezy spring morning, ideal for portraits among the blooming wildflowers and peaceful trails of Glenwood Gardens. This park is one of my favorite hidden gems in Cincinnati, offering lush greenery, beautiful light, and a sense of calm that makes it perfect for capturing natural, relaxed moments.
The stars of the session were two sweet little girls: a playful 4-year-old full of personality, and her baby cousin, just 6 months old, with the biggest curious eyes and chubbiest cheeks. They were surrounded by loving parents, grandparents, and even an aunt and uncle—making it a true family celebration.
We started with classic posed portraits of each family unit, then moved into more candid groupings. Some of my favorite moments came when the kids were simply being themselves: the toddler twirling in her dress near the flower beds, and the baby giggling in grandma’s arms. You could see the pride and love written all over their faces—this is why extended family sessions are so meaningful.
Photographing multiple generations together is always a joy. It’s not just about getting “the shot”—it’s about capturing the legacy and the love that ties everyone together. These photos will be treasures not just for the parents and grandparents, but for the children, years from now, when they can see the foundation of love that was there from the very beginning.
