Amanda + Kevin, St Clare Chapel Wedding Cincinnati OH

I like nice people. I mean genuinely nice people. The kind of people who love with their whole selves. The kind of people that celebrate relationships and not simply an event. The kind of people who are good to their wedding photographer of course. Ha! Ok yeah that one is always a bonus, but truthfully my favorite kind of wedding is the kind where two people with beautiful hearts marry each other because they are so obviously in love they can’t stay apart, and they celebrate each other and their families and all their friends in such a meaningful way. Nice people do that kinda stuff, you know.

Amanda and Kevin are those kind of people, and their wedding definitely shows it. They were married at St Clare Chapel under the most beautiful blue and gold ceiling that shone like a sky full of stars. They started with letters for each other which they read while they were getting ready, then a short first look inside the chapel. The smiles and excitement on both their faces took my breath away! Their ceremony was equally heartfelt, with passages read by friends and family.

After the ceremony, they were whisked away to the Carnegie Center of Columbia Tusculum for a beautiful book themed reception – a very fitting tribute to the building’s origin as a library. The reception featured a high tea with delicious food and lots of engaging conversation. First dances were had, hugs were given. It was a marvelous celebration of family and friends, especially after a year of social isolation.

Finally, the newlyweds and I snuck off to Ault Park for some photos at sunset – it was such a hot, hot day so we made it fast and stayed in the shade. I’m so thankful they trusted me to photograph their beautiful wedding day!
