Baby Sarah – 5 Days New – Newborn Photographer

I’ve been wanting to try the stork’s sling for a while. I didn’t realize how hard it would be to get her positioned in a way that didn’t smash her little face! After 3 repositions, I got one that worked pretty well.  (As you can see, she wasn’t the sleepiest baby ever either.)

Also, I’ve been eyeing a knit newborn pod-cocoon, but they are pricy, and for now I’m on a strict 1-prop per shoot budget. (LOL, I could go crazy with little baskets, hats, and headbands.) I thought about making my own, but since I don’t knit, my DIY options were limited. Enter the cute-but-shrunk sweater that was in my “donate to charity” bag after my most recent closet cleanout! Sarah was a larger baby, and even on her, the pod was too big. I think I’m going to weave a pretty ribbon through the upper edge, to serve as a drawstring to help the baby’s feet stay in. And I’m going to sew the bottom a little higer, especially near the head.
