Every newborn is absolutely precious, and little Andrew is no exception!
Andrew was born almost a month early with a cleft lip and palate. He’s quite a champ, graduating from NICU, learning to eat without a feeding tube, and growing bigger every day. I’m so glad that Andrew’s momma decided to have his pictures taken while he’s brand new, before he has the surgeries that will correct his lip. After all, this is the smile he was born with, it is a part of who he is, and years from now he will look back on these sweet pictures and know that he was loved from the start.
Since Andrew had to spend a few weeks in the NICU plus a few more weeks with a feeding tube, we couldn’t do his session during the recommended 4-10 day window. He was 28 days old when we photographed our session, but as you can see here, even with an “older” newborn things tend to work out, and we get some adorable pictures. If you notice, Andrew reeeeally liked being wrapped up! In fact, he had very strong opinions about being unwrapped. 🙂
Thank you to my sweet friends for allowing me to photograph little Andrew and to share his story here. These two are so fiercely in love with their sweet baby, and I appreciate them taking the time with me. I hope that this story will inspire other special needs parents to have their sweet babies captured as soon as possible – after all, how can you know how far you’ve come if you don’t know where you’ve begun! And Andrew, I know that one day soon you will have a brand new smile, and while it will be absolutely adorable I’m sure, please remember that the smile you were given at birth was precious as well.
What a beautiful story. Andrew is so precious. The pictures are so good. You can tell Ashley and T. J. love that little guy. What s beautiful FAMILY!
