Cincinnati Family Photographers at Home Photo Session in the Snow

I love a good warm blanket, a roaring fire, and a steaming cup of hot tea during the winter. But sometimes bundling up and having fun in the snow is absolutely called for! This family was one of my favorites, because they didn’t shy away from all types of weather. In fact, they celebrated it with a wonderful series of fall, spring, and winter sessions. The great thing about the midwest is that we do get all these seasons and as the Cincinnati family photographers around here will tell you, sometimes we get all the seasons in the same week.

This snow session took place right at my client’s home – not every session has to be an elaborate event at the park. All we need is a bit of good light and a few feet of grass, and we can get some beautiful, meaningful, and EASY family portraits. I mean, not having to shove the kids and all their snow clothes into the car is just an amazing thing. Hiring a professional photographer who can come to your home for portraits is priceless!

After talking to my clients, I knew that we had to show a few special things: fun, play, and a healthy helping of winter weather. This family brought lots of fun and play, and mother nature brought the snow! As soon as I pulled into their Cincinnati suburb home, I knew I had to get a portrait of them in front of their house – after all they had told me they’d be moving away sometime in the next months, and as someone who has moved a lot in my life, these images with a sense of place are absolutely vital to preserve.
