Abby and David’s wedding day at The Turn Vintage was the perfect blend of intimacy, romance, and vintage charm. Their thoughtfully planned celebration in Covington highlighted everything that makes smaller weddings so special with plenty of meaningful moments and time spent with the people who matter most.
For couples searching for a Northern Kentucky wedding photographer who specializes in documenting authentic moments, Abby and David’s wedding is a perfect example of how powerful intimate celebrations can be.

Getting Ready at The Church Airbnb in Covington
The day began at The Church Airbnb, a beautifully restored historic building that served as the couple’s getting-ready space. The character of the space with the tall ceilings and historic architecture, and of course the soft natural light coming in through the old arched windows created a relaxed and elegant environment for the start of the day. So much better than a crowded hotel room!
From a photography perspective, unique spaces like this add depth and texture to wedding photos. The light-filled rooms and historic details made the morning feel calm and cinematic, giving Abby and David time to prepare while enjoying quiet moments with their closest friends and family.

A Romantic First Look Before the Ceremony
Before heading to their ceremony, Abby and David shared a private first look. These moments are often some of the most emotional parts of a wedding day, giving couples the opportunity to see each other without an audience and soak in the significance of the day.
As a documentary-style wedding photographer serving Northern Kentucky and the Cincinnati area, these quiet, authentic moments are some of my favorites to capture. Abby and David’s first look was filled with laughter, relief, and the kind of excitement that sets the tone for the entire day.

An Intimate Ceremony at The Turn Vintage
The couple hosted their private ceremony at The Turn Vintage, a venue known for its curated vintage aesthetic and unique atmosphere. Abby and David chose to keep their ceremony small, inviting only close family and a handful of friends to witness their vows.
This intimate approach created a deeply personal experience. Every guest present was truly connected to the couple, making the ceremony feel warm, emotional, and meaningful.
For couples planning a small wedding or micro-wedding in Northern Kentucky, venues like The Turn Vintage offer an incredible setting that feels both stylish and personal.

A Quiet Moment Together Before the Reception
After the ceremony, Abby and David took a short break upstairs at the venue to relax together. These intentional pauses during a wedding day are often overlooked but incredibly meaningful.
Instead of rushing straight into the reception, they took a few minutes to sit together, reflect, and enjoy the fact that they had just gotten married. We took a few beautiful editorial style pictures, I witnessed the signing of their marriage license (such a meaningful moment for me and my second photographer Caleb) and we had a few laughs and some snacks before they came back downstairs to rejoin the festivities for the first time as a married couple!

A Vintage-Inspired Reception with Thoughtful Details
When the reception began, additional guests arrived to celebrate with Abby and David. The space was filled with carefully chosen details that reflected their vintage-inspired vision. The best part about a wedding with The Turn Vintage is that so much is included! They provide lounge furniture, tables and chairs, beautiful vintage china, and even table decor that perfectly matches their romantic vintage vibe!
One of the standout elements was a custom chalkboard sign placed behind the dance floor! They created a beautiful, handcrafted backdrop for the couple that perfectly fit the aesthetic of the venue. As the evening unfolded, the dance floor filled with laughter, celebration, and joyful energy.

Patio Portraits Under the String Lights
As evening approached, we stepped outside for portraits on the venue’s patio. String lights illuminated the space, creating a soft, romantic glow that perfectly complemented the vintage style of the wedding.
These relaxed outdoor portraits are often some of the most memorable photos from the day. With the celebration continuing inside, Abby and David were able to take a few peaceful minutes together while the warm evening light and glowing string lights created the perfect atmosphere. It was the perfect ending to a day that felt both relaxed and beautifully intentional.
