Nursery design is so fun. I remember when I was expecting my firstborn, the care I took to select just the right bedding, the perfect curtains, and a glider that fit the color scheme. All the little knick kacks were placed just so on his bookshelf, and all the gifts I received were lovingly used in his room. I even hand-painted wall decor (I’m crafty like that sometimes.) And I know that the love and care that goes into preparing for a new baby is something that should be honored. That is why when I photograph a baby’s newborn photo session, I just adore incorporating a nursery theme into the pictures! Besides, many times images form baby’s first photo session are displayed in a nursery, so why wouldn’t we make it match the nursery colors and theme!
This little guy had a gray and blue nursery waiting for him at home, accented with little lambs. It was so much fun working the colors and the theme into the session in a very subtle way that felt true to my vision of creating simple and beautiful portraits of baby!
