Celebrating Love in Cincinnati’s OTR: Megan and Joe at the Woodward Theater

In the heart of Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine (OTR) neighborhood, nestled amidst historic buildings and vibrant street art, Megan and Joe celebrated their love in a wedding that was as unique as it was heartfelt. The day started with portraits at the Lytle Park Hotel, followed by a traditional Catholic Ceremony at St Frances Church. When that was completed they celebrated with a lively reception at the Woodward Theater, with its vintage charm and artistic ambiance, which provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with candid moments and joyous celebrations.

From the onset, Megan and Joe envisioned a wedding that would be more than just a ceremony; they wanted an experience that captured the essence of their love story. Choosing the Woodward Theater as their venue was a nod to their shared appreciation for art and culture, as well as the rich history of OTR itself.

The day began with anticipation and excitement, with getting ready photos at the hotel, surrounded by the girls and full of music, singing, and laughter. My favorite moment was when Megan read a letter from Joe – there were tears of joy and so much laughter!

The summer day was super hot with a heat index over 100 degrees, so we opted to do portraits indoors where everyone could keep cool before the ceremony. The couple had a lovely first look at the Lytle Hotel, followed by portraits in the gorgeous bar area.

Family and friends then gathered at St Frances Catholic Church to witness Megan and Joe exchange their vows in an traditional ceremony. The documentary-style approach to their wedding meant that every moment, from nervous laughter to tearful vows, was beautifully captured. Candid shots of their loved ones’ reactions and stolen glances between the couple added a genuine touch to the day’s narrative.

After the ceremony, Megan and Joe took a journey through the charming streets of OTR. The cobblestone paths and colorful murals provided a picturesque backdrop for photos that reflected the couple’s adventurous spirit and love for their city. As they strolled hand in hand, they paused at iconic landmarks that held special meaning for them, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

One such memorable stop was Danger Wheel, an unexpected twist that perfectly embodied Megan and Joe’s playful personalities. The adult tricycle downhill race down a closed street brought laughter and friendly competition among guests, showcasing the couple’s commitment to making their wedding day as fun and memorable as possible.

Back at the Woodward Theater, the evening continued with heartfelt toasts and lively dancing. The industrial chic decor of the venue complemented the warmth and love that filled the air. Megan and Joe’s first dance encapsulated the essence of their relationship – graceful yet full of joyous spontaneity.

The wedding of Megan and Joe was more than just a union of two people; it was a celebration of community, creativity, and love. It was a day where every detail, from the choice of venue to the spontaneous tricycle race, reflected their personalities and the journey they had embarked upon together.

As the night drew to a close, Megan and Joe stole a quiet moment together, reflecting on the whirlwind of emotions and experiences that had unfolded throughout the day. Surrounded by the love and support of their friends and family, they knew that their wedding day was just the beginning of a lifetime of adventures and shared dreams.

Megan and Joe’s wedding in Cincinnati’s OTR neighborhood was a testament to the beauty of love in all its forms – spontaneous, adventurous, and deeply personal. It was a day that will be remembered not only for its unique style and charm but for the love that shone through every candid moment and heartfelt exchange.
